Simple Ways To Eat Healthy At Restaurants
Posted by Arnold Yu June 02, 2010.
If you’re like me, and you cant cook at all, then I’m sure that you eat out all the time. Although I try to avoid fast food as much as possible, going to restaurants for lunch or dinner is inevitable - and can definitely take its toll on the body (especially with the extra large portion sizes of meals in America). But there many ways that you can make your dining experience a healthy and delicious one, if you follow these simple steps:
- Ask your waiter or waitress to serve you half the portion and put the other half in a togo box. This way you wont be forcing yourself to finish that expensive meal and you’ll be able to save it for another day.
- Try to get your food grilled, steamed, poached, roasted, or baked. This is because sautéed, fried, crispy, or stuffed food is extremely high in calories and artery clogging fat.
- When restaurants serve you bread, ask for soft margarine instead of butter.
- Have your food prepared without any added salt or MSG is possible.
- Ask for gravy or salad dressing on the side.
- Remember to ask the restaurant for 1% percent milk or fat free milk instead of whole milk.
- For dessert try getting fruit or a sherbet.
Following
these simple steps, and you'll feel more active, lively and energized
in no time!
