Waking Up The Right Way

We’ve all “woken up on the wrong side of the bed” at least once in our lives. It’s amazing how a bad start to your day can throw off the “chi” of your entire day, isn’t it? We want to give you a few tips on how to get your day started right so that you will be energized and ready to seize the day.
First, try putting some music on. What better company is there to start your day with than your favorite artist or band? Music therapy has been proven to lower stress and have positive health benefits. Let your favorite tunes from Ferry Corsten, Beethoven, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, or Carrie Underwood, wake you up and get you into the groove of the day. One suggestion is to set the alarm clock on your cell phone to play your favorite song as it rings! We guarantee that you will be much less likely to throw that alarm clock across the room when it’s time to wake up.
Try some morning stretches in the shower. The hot shower water relaxes and loosens your muscles, so it’s the best time to stretch. Stretching is proven to improve flexibility, increase circulation throughout the body, and relieve stress. Wake all your muscles and joints up early in the morning and you’ll be energized later on.
This one’s a given- eat a healthy breakfast! After eight or more hours of sleep, your body needs its fuel to wake up too. Try some grains, protein, and fruits. It’d be a great time to incorporate some green tea into your day as well, which will not only give you a caffeine boost but reduce cholesterol, improve immune functions, and even prevent cancer. Eat a healthy breakfast each morning and you will find your nutrition and concentration improve miraculously!
And lastly, the best way to physically give your body a boost in the morn is to take a brisk job, do some yoga, or practice Pilates.
Exercise powers mind and soul, and it will lower your stress level, improve performance throughout the day, and induce clarity of mind.
Follow these tips and you will never have a grumpy day again. Wake up on the right side of the bed- life’s too short to not enjoy!
