Pilates Powers Mind and Soul!

Pilates, created by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, is a new exercise regime that infuses both mind and soul into your everyday workout. Pilates discovered that exercising needs to encompass a variety of elements that come together to create a healthy body.

One begins Pilates by learning to incorporate the “powerhouse” of the body – this area includes the lower back, abs, hips, and buttocks. The powerhouse, also called the “core”, is where all the physical energy is said to come from, and in learning to utilize this body region, one will discover a level of physical stamina within themselves that they never imagined possible.

Breathing is the second most important element in Pilates. Joseph Pilates believed that breathing not only recharges all your body cells with oxygen, but accelerates the process of removing harmful and fatigue causing wastes from the body.

And finally, the Pilates regime focuses on control, control, control. There is no room for sloppy movements in this program- every muscle needs to be controlled steadily, which results in higher strength, stamina, and flexibility.

With all these elements combined, it’ll be no time before you start seeing and feeling results in your body. Pilates is more than exercise- it’s a way of life.
